In a context where the national plant protection industry is on alert due to the increase in illegal pesticide trade, ANASAC redoubles its efforts to protect the country's agricultural safety and ensure compliance with regulations governing the use of agricultural inputs.
The illegal trade of pesticides not only represents a threat to people's health and the environment, but also to the competitiveness of Chilean agriculture. Therefore, ANASAC actively aligns with the initiative led by the Agricultural and Livestock Service and the Chilean Mint, which includes the incorporation of advanced technologies for the traceability of plant protection products.
Fraud Technology: A New Standard in Security
The implementation of a new system secure labeling with unique traceability elements - such as verifiable QR codes - will allow distributors, farmers, and authorities to confirm the authenticity of plant protection products in real-time. This initiative responds to the sector's urgent call to break the illegal circuit that has caused economic losses, crop deterioration, and the risk of sanctions for farmers who, often unknowingly, purchase counterfeit products.
ANASAC has been one of the first companies in the industry to begin integrating this technology into its product line., demonstrating its leadership and commitment to transparent and responsible business practices.
«We are convinced that technological innovation is key to safeguarding the value of our products and protecting those who trust us. ANASAC »throughout the entire agricultural chain," said Beatriz Ceardi, Regulatory Affairs Manager at ANASAC and member of IMPPA's Regulatory Commission.
Leadership and sectoral collaboration
This action is part of the joint work with the National Association of Manufacturers and Importers of Agricultural Plant Protection Products (AFIPA), which has been driving a common agenda with SAG to confront illegal trade. ANASAC has actively participated in working groups that seek to harmonize criteria, develop educational campaigns, and strengthen legal distribution channels.
Beatriz Ceardi also pointed out that “as ANASAC and IMPPA, we have been working for some time on solutions that allow us to better protect our products. Today more than ever, we need traceability, because the black market is growing and that puts the security of our entire agriculture at risk. In ANASAC We understand that the integrity of the plant health industry is protected not only through enforcement, but also through the responsibility of each stakeholder. That is why we are proud to be part of this solution.
A message to the Chilean farmer
The invitation from ANASAC It is clear: purchase products through authorized channels, always demand the corresponding receipt or invoice, and verify the authenticity of the products through available traceability mechanisms. The fight against the illegal trade of pesticides is everyone's task, and ANASAC reaffirms its role as a strategic ally for safer, more modern, and sustainable Chilean agriculture.
