PEHUEN® 54 SC is an insecticide that mixes two molecules, Fipronil and Thiamethoxam. Fipronil from the Phenyl-Pirazole group, a broad-spectrum insecticide that disrupts the insect's central nervous system by blocking the passage of chloride ions through the GABA receptor, which produces hyperexcitation of the insect's muscles and nerves, acting mainly by contact and Thiamethoxam, a neonicotinoid antagonist of synaptic receptors, blocks acetylcholine receptors in the synapse process, causing insect paralysis. Both components make it a very efficient product for pest resistance management.
